This webpage has been created to explore the controversy within the issue of media and its effect on body image. It not only affects our society right now, but will also affect the future generations to come. The media we are surrounded by deceives perception of personal beauty by placing pressures especially on the youth. By gathering a sufficient amount of sources, analyzing them, and understanding what they have to say, we hope to increase our understanding of the issue as a whole. Our research and sources analyzed fall into three main categories including celebrity culture, media and bodily trends, and media and youth. Each of these categories is explored and looked into as they each play an equally important role in the overall issue of media and its effect on body image. A broadened understanding of the issue and its controversy is what we hope to achieve.
